The Waltz of Fire & Light
Step inside our Bucharest atelier, where glass moves like music and every curve is guided by breath, heat, and the human hand. Here, hand-blown borosilicate glass becomes sculptural candelabras, vessels for tea rituals in glass, and high-end glassware for interiors and celebrations. This is the story of how we shape light into form — a practice we call the waltz of fire and light.

Where Heritage Meets Precision
Gabriela Seres is a luxury glassware studio rooted in Bucharest, Romania. Our work draws on European glass traditions while embracing the clarity, durability, and technical range of borosilicate glass. It is a material we love for its luminous purity and resilience — a canvas for designs that are both poetic and precise.
“I love our glass and our process. I only draw and make what I love.”
— Gabriela Seres, Designer and Founder
Why Borosilicate Glass?
Not all glass is the same. Borosilicate’s low thermal expansion makes it exceptionally stable — ideal for slender stems, deep optics, and tall artisan candelabras. Its clarity reveals every line of the design, while its strength allows us to shape elegant silhouettes that serve the table, the altar of a celebration, or the quiet ceremony of tea.
Our Process: The Rhythm of Hand-Blowing
Each piece begins as a sketch at Gabriela’s desk — a delicate language of curves and proportions. From there, our master glassblowers — many trained by Petru, our technical lead — bring drawings to life in a choreographed sequence. Flame meets glass; breath meets form; the stem turns; a shoulder opens; a lip becomes a line of light.
“She draws them and I find a way to make them — together with my former pupils at gas lamp.”
— Petru, Glassblowing master and Founder

From Drawing to Fire: A Few Signature Families
Élysée – Optics for Light and Wine
Élysée is a study in vertical rhythm: fine fluted optics that amplify light and elevate wine. The collection spans red and white wine glasses, a flute, a cognac bowl, a decanter, and a lidded carafe — all hand-blown in borosilicate. The result is high-end glass that whispers, rather than shouts, adding architecture to the table without overpowering it.
Eleanor – Grand Proportions, Drawn Stems
Tall and graceful, Eleanor’s drawn stems feel sculptural in the hand. The family includes wine goblets, a carafe with lid, cake stands, and domes — a complete language for hosting and gifting. Their generous bowls and crystalline clarity make every pour a small performance.
Tea Rituals in Glass – The Quiet Ceremony
We designed our teapots, cups, and pourers for transparency — to watch color bloom and fragrance unfold. Borosilicate’s stability means water meets vessel safely, while delicate spouts and handles stay refined. For many, this is the moment they truly see glass as a companion to daily life.
Certified Quality, Human Scale
Craft and quality live side by side here. Our atelier maintains ISO 9001 certification, renewed annually — a framework that supports consistency without diluting character. Tolerances, annealing cycles, and finishing are documented and respected; the breath that forms each piece remains profoundly human.
For Celebrations & Everyday Beauty
Our glass travels from the studio to tables in Bucharest and beyond. Event professionals choose our candelabras and centerpieces for their sculptural presence and reliable quality; homeowners collect tumblers, decanters, and stands that anchor daily rituals. Whether for a wedding, an intimate dinner, or a quiet morning with tea, each object is designed to be used — and loved — for years.
Responsible Making
We use borosilicate tubing and rods with consistently tested composition and work to minimize waste in cutting and forming. Because our pieces are made to last, the most sustainable choice we can make is durability. When something is cherished over a lifetime, its footprint becomes lighter.
Visit, Learn, Experience
We welcome private tours and small, hands-on introductions to glassblowing at our atelier in Bucharest — a chance to watch the waltz up close, to feel the heat and understand the material’s quiet demands. For professionals, we offer group demonstrations and special evenings for collectors.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is borosilicate glass safe for hot liquids?
Yes. Borosilicate’s low thermal expansion makes it highly resistant to thermal shock, which is why we choose it for tea ritual pieces and pourers. Treat it with care, as you would any fine object, and it will serve for years.
Are your candelabras stable and suitable for events?
Our artisan candelabras are engineered for balance and tested for stability. Event stylists appreciate their clarity and height, and the way optics carry candlelight across a table.

A Note from Gabriela
“Design is how I listen to glass,” Gabriela says. “I try to find the line that allows light to speak. When you hold a piece from our atelier — a goblet, a decanter, a candle branch — I hope you feel both the calm of precision and the warmth of the hands that made it.”
